I hope people haven't vouched this community for dead due to the breakup.

I stumbled across this page that has a complete live show of David Bazan playing out acoustically both Pedro the Lion songs from all ages and even Headphones songs.

The show was on Monday, June 19th.

It's a fantastic show. Wish I was there.

12:30 pm - Headphones at the Social

So did anyone else go see Dave at the Social in Orlando last night? It was absolutley amazing! I was really really impressed. There ended being 4 bands total that played, Headphones came on 3rd and it was around 11:30 by the time he came on. He did around 5 songs..and it was just awesome. He was drinking wine straight out of the bottle..cracked me up. After we watched minus the bear play about 2 songs we decided to leave..so we're coming out of the parking garage and I see Dave just walking along downtown Orlando in front of some pizza shop and then he just starts randomly stopping and talking to people..really cool. I yelled out the window "I LOVE YOU DAVE" and he turned around and smiled and waved then disappeared into the crowd.. Anyways, here are a couple of pictures that I took..

hello everyone (or anyone. I know this community is pretty sparse.)

My band just made a new CD. Somehow we have gotten pedro comparisons in the past with a couple songs. I don't know if the same can be said with any of our new stuff, but be my guest and see.

have fun, take care, start posting. thanks

1:16 pm - Hola
chef_assassin Pedro The Lion.org kicks ass!
That's where they really talk about the music as opposed to the .com conversations about how christian or unchristian Dave is, or how cool george bush is. Check it out.
By the way Headphones at the Wiltern on October 18th, meet me there and I'll buy you a beer.

2:42 pm - New to the Pedro Community

Hi, my name's Matt and I've known Dave and his family since '94. This looks like a cool community.

I first met Dave in early '94 when I was living in Modesto, CA. My dad is a pastor, and was on staff with his dad, Dave Bazan, Sr., who was the music pastor at Neighborhood Church.

Dave struck me as such a cool guy. Very humble and unassuming. I remember him playing early songs on an acoustic guitar for the youth group, including an early version of "Lullaby." He'd done a cassette demo in Seattle (he attended Northwest college there for a while) in like '93 or '94, and there were some really good songs on it. I asked Dave about that recently, and I know his dad still has some in the garage. I guess he wasn't thrilled with those early sessions, but the songwriting really shone. I believe there were 8 songs on the tape, though I may be off by a couple.

I did some music stuff with him a couple times back then, and still have a video of a practice session of him on drums, with Brent Sevrens from the early 90's Modesto band Corpus Christi on bass. He made me want to play the guitar, which I soon took up, and really owe my own music's beginnings to him.

For a guy so soft-spoken, he really has a lot to say.

Anyways, though this post is mostly about him, some of my music can be found at The Tricycle Wipeout

2:46 pm - !!!!!

hey folks, ive been a long time fan, but i just found out about this community. i guess i should tell you my pedro the lion history.

i was first introduced to pedro when i was about 10, my brother had "winners never quit" and listened to it quite a bit. (HEY THAT RHYMED!) i then stole it from him every so often because i absolutely loved the story being told and how it was told. (yeah, i know, big thinker at the age of 10) i had never known what a concept album was before that, and i still think its one of the best concept albums ever, aside from de-loused in the comatorium. anyways, years later i met a guy named david who was also obsessed with pedro the lion. it was kinda funny cus he had every full length album except for "winners never quit" so we traded music. somwhere in between i got whole ep, and then burned that for him cus he didnt have that either. so here i am, 17, and still listening to pedro the lion. and yes, i have every album and all the ep's. sorry to bore you all with the details, but im happy to finally join this community and i hope itll be fun.

buh bye!

10:58 am - Bamboozle Participants Read (VERY IMPORTANT)

So my friend and I purchased a room in the Neptune Motor Inn. Rooms near Bamboozle seem fairly scarce, but we have one. We have a tiny problem though. I purchased the hotel, thinking that I was paying $130 for two nights in it, but instead, I was screwed and I'm getting charged $260 for two nights. Neptune is approximately 1.44 miles away from Asbury Park, I don't know the approximate location and distance away from Bamboozle, but it can't be further away than any other place.

.. so we're asking anyone to share a room with us. If we get two more people we'll be paying $65 each for both nights. It'd be a great help and it'll help us not pay $130 a piece. We're nice guys and all, please, just help us out.

If you are interested and feeling generous (and may need a place to stay) .. hit me up.
